About Us
Founding of SE®
Aljoscha and Reinhold founded smart.engineered with the goal of providing "real" solutions in the relatively fragmented screen protection market for mobile devices. They succeeded with the 'se FOLIE' – our 3D protective film for rounded displays, manufactured in-house in Herford. We hit the mark!
Bestsellers & Night Shifts
Within a very short time, with very little resources and just a small machine, our 3D screen protector became a bestseller on Amazon.de. Just in time for Christmas, our customers were finally able to give a functional screen protector for curved displays as a gift! Time for night shifts, good friends who helped out, and our first employee.
More night shifts & relocation of production
We're now more than just a handful of hard-working people, and we're continuing to grow. Our office at Denkwerk Herford is becoming too small for sales and production. The startup center in Herford has been misused for too long. We're moving our production and finally have space for our warehouse, a new machine, and more employees.
“Even Lufthansa flies on these slides”
The press is interested in us and writes an article about our startup. Meanwhile, Lufthansa has been impressed by our products and is now one of our first project customers. A huge success for our small team.
'se GLAS' market launch
In addition to our successful 'se FOLIE' 3D protective film for curved and rounded displays, we now also offer 'se GLAS' 3D protective glass. Our customers love it: finally, a no-compromise solution for devices with flat displays.

Our customers love our screen protectors, and we love our customers. That's why we're investing in our machines and optimizing our processes. Our capacities are multiplying. Our products are now available in Great Britain, France, Italy, and Spain, in addition to Germany.
Made in Germany and pioneers
We undergo a rigorous audit process and have our screen protectors certified by TÜV Nord as being of German origin. This makes us the first screen protector manufacturer to receive this certification, making us pioneers.
1 million slides
Over a million screen protectors and glass protectors have now left our production facility in Herford. We are very proud of this. We are even prouder of our highly satisfied customers. We want to continue this and grow into a solid brand in smartphone accessories.
